Sennheiser Unveils HDB 630: Premium Wireless Headphones With Lossless Wired Audio and ANC

Sennheiser has officially pulled back the curtain on its latest premium audio offering, the HDB 630 wireless noise-canceling headphones. Arriving with a price tag of $500, this new model aims to bridge the gap between wireless convenience and the uncompromising quality of wired lossless audio. This release marks Sennheiser’s first major premium wireless headphone debut since the Momentum 4 in 2022, positioning the HDB 630 as a high-end contender in a competitive market.
Visually, the HDB 630 bears a striking resemblance to its Momentum 4 predecessor, with Sennheiser acknowledging that the new model “inherited” its chassis. However, the company emphasizes that a completely new acoustic system lies within, designed for “focused listening.” This internal architecture features 42mm dynamic drivers, explicitly crafted for “purity, not hype.” Sennheiser asserts that this meticulous design ensures listeners will experience “the vibe that left the mastering studio,” with particular attention paid to the midrange, vocal clarity, and overall dynamics of the sound profile.
Beyond its physical design, the HDB 630 packs a suite of features aimed at audiophiles. A high-resolution digital audio engine supports both wired and wireless listening, capable of delivering audio up to 24-bit/96kHz resolution via either the USB-C or 3.5mm ports. To enhance wireless high-res capabilities, the headphones include a USB-C transmitter dongle, enabling aptX Adaptive streaming for a vast majority of smartphones and devices that may not natively support the codec. “With only an estimated 16 percent of smartphone hardware supporting native wireless high-res sound, the included dongle brings this capability to 80 percent of smartphone models in an instant through their USB Type-C port,” Sennheiser clarified in a press release. Additional audio enhancements include the Crossfade feature, borrowed from Sennheiser’s HE 1 headphones, which blends channels for a more speaker-like experience, and a new Parametric Equalizer offering granular control over bandwidth, filter, and A/B settings. Users will also soon be able to share their custom presets via QR code. Rounding out the feature set, the HDB 630 boasts an impressive 60 hours of battery life with ANC enabled, mirroring the Momentum 4, and offers a quick 10-minute charge for seven hours of playback. An airline adapter is also included for travel convenience.
The Sennheiser HDB 630 is available for pre-order starting today, with shipping expected to commence on October 21st from Sennheiser and other retailers.
