Pierce Brosnan is about to enter the DCEU as Black Adam‘s Doctor Fate, but is probably best known for his time as James Bond and he recently shared his thoughts on who should be the next 007.
Last year’s No Time To Die marked the end of Daniel Craig’s tenure as James Bond, with Craig’s 007 meeting his demise. The shock ending brought the latest Bond era to a pretty definitive conclusion. Now the hunt is on for a new Bond as producers prepare to reimagine the franchise.
Pierce Brosnan’s Bond is fondly remembered by many fans and the actor was recently asked for his thoughts on who should step up to replace Daniel Craig. However, Brosnan doesn’t seem too bothered about who will be next to don Bond’s tuxedo.
While speaking to British GQ, Pierce Brosnan was asked who he thinks should take over the role of James Bond now that Daniel Craig is out.
However, the former 007 didn’t seem to have any thoughts on who producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson should turn to. Instead, the Black Adam star simply said it would be “interesting” to see who is cast and offered them his best wishes.
Responding to the question of his choice for the next James Bond, Pierce Brosnan said:
“Who should do it? I don’t care, it’ll be interesting to see who they get, who the man shall be, whoever he be, I wish him well.”
Brosnan also revealed he had been keeping up with the franchise since his departure after 2002’s Die Another Day. “I saw the last one, and I saw Skyfall, I love Skyfall,” he said. Apparently he was less taken with No Time To Die. “I’m not too sure about the last one. Daniel always gives of his heart. Very courageous, very strong. But…”
Here is the synopsis for Pierce Brosnan’s next film, Black Adam:
“Nearly 5,000 years after he was bestowed with the almighty powers of the ancient gods—and imprisoned just as quickly—Black Adam (Johnson) is freed from his earthly tomb, ready to unleash his unique form of justice on the modern world.”
Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra from a script written by Adam Sztykiel and Rory Haines & Sohrab Noshirvani, the DCEU film stars Dwayne Johnson, Aldis Hodge, Noah Centineo, Sarah Shahi, Marwan Kenzari, Quintessa Swindell, Bodhi Sabongui, and Pierce Brosnan.
