Jenny Mollen ‘received abortion care’ after two miscarriages

Jenny Mollen is speaking candidly about the abortion care she received after suffering two miscarriages.

The actress experienced her first pregnancy loss in the beginning of her relationship with Jason Biggs, with the second happening during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Both times I needed a D&C [dilation and curettage] and received abortion care and both times I was so grateful to live in a country where that was possible,” Mollen, 43, told her Instagram followers on Thursday.

The “Angel” alum, who is the mother of sons Sid, 8, and Lazlo, 4, expressed her gratitude for the “capable hands” she was in during the procedures.

“It is important to understand that when we say abortions are medical procedures that save lives and are vital — this is part of what we’re talking about,” she continued, bashing the “unconscionable” abortion bans implemented in many states since Roe v. Wade was overturned in June.

Mollen noted that she “must not be silent” about her own abortion experiences, thanking Chrissy Teigen and Busy Philipps for inspiring her with their stories and “helping drive awareness to this critical issue.”

Teigen, 36, said in September 2020 that she suffered a miscarriage and lost her son Jack — but clarified last week that she actually had a “life-saving abortion.”

The “Cravings” cookbook author explained, “It became very clear around halfway through that he would not survive, and that I wouldn’t either without any medical intervention. … Let’s just call it what it was: It was an abortion.”

When Teigen received backlash for her announcement, she clapped back at haters via Twitter.

“I knew this would happen,” the model, who is the mother of daughter Luna, 6, and son Miles, 4, tweeted on Sept. 16. “It doesn’t make me feel worse.”

As for Philipps, she is also a mom of two, sharing Birdie, 14, and Cricket, 9, with her estranged husband, Marc Silverstein.

The “Freaks and Geeks” alum, 43, has been vocal for many years about having an abortion at age 15.

“It’s not brave for me to say I had an abortion at 15, because it’s a medical thing — a thing, a choice that I made, and I don’t regret it at all,” she told Gywneth Paltrow in a 2019 interview.

Philipps noted that she does not feel any “shame” over the decision.
