A maintenance worker was robbed by a “gang” of inmates at Rikers Island, The Post has learned.
The worker was standing at the medication window inside the Otis Bantum Correctional Center at about 3:45 p.m. on Monday when he was surrounded by the inmates who demanded his watch, sneakers and cigarettes, according to an incident report obtained by The Post.
The worker told authorities one of the inmates pulled a homemade knife and threatened to “stab me up” and another pulled his watch off his wrist.
The number of inmates involved in the robbery was not immediately known.
The incident comes as a series of reports have emerged about the hellish conditions in city jails.
