Ryan Reynolds Confirms A Small Break From Movies Before ‘Deadpool 3’

Deadpool 3 star Ryan Reynolds is looking to take a small break from making movies.

Ryan Reynolds is one of the busiest actors working right now. In 2021 alone, he has three movies on the calendar, with Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard and Free Guy both already released and his upcoming Netflix original film Red Notice with Dwayne Johnson and Gal Gadot set to drop next month. Obviously, he has Deadpool 3 coming under Marvel Studios on the horizon, but it appears that at least for now, he will be taking a small sabbatical.

On his official Instagram, Ryan Reynolds announced that he wrapped filming on his upcoming film, Spirited, in which he stars alongside Will Ferrell and Octavia Spencer. In this post, he confirmed that he will have “a little sabbatical from movie making,” probably before he gets to work on Deadpool 3:

It is currently unknown whether or not Deadpool 3 will be Ryan Reynolds’ next project following this small break from filmmaking, but Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige confirmed that there already is a release window for the highly-anticipated film. As of right now, Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Logelin are writing the script for the sequel, and the film will keep with the Rated R tradition of its predecessors even as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Here is the official synopsis for Deadpool 2:

“After surviving a near fatal bovine attack, a disfigured cafeteria chef (Wade Wilson) struggles to fulfill his dream of becoming Mayberry’s hottest bartender while also learning to cope with his lost sense of taste. Searching to regain his spice for life, as well as a flux capacitor, Wade must battle ninjas, the yakuza, and a pack of sexually aggressive canines, as he journeys around the world to discover the importance of family, friendship, and flavor – finding a new taste for adventure and earning the coveted coffee mug title of World’s Best Lover.”

Directed by David Leitch from a script written by Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick & Ryan Reynolds, the film stars Ryan Reynolds, Josh Brolin, Morena Baccarin, Julian Dennison, Zazie Beetz, T.J. Miller, Brianna Hildebrand, and Jack Kesy.

Deadpool 2 is now available on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital HD. Stay tuned for all the latest news on Ryan Reynolds’ upcoming third film and be sure to subscribe to Leak Herald’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
