Samsung Galaxy XR Leak Reveals Final Specs and Accessories Ahead of Launch

Samsung’s long-awaited XR headset, previously known as Project Moohan, has surfaced in a major leak that appears to confirm its final name, core specifications, and accessory lineup. According to Android Headlines, the device will officially be called the Samsung Galaxy XR and is expected to debut later this fall. The leak showcases a headset that blends elements of the discontinued Meta Quest Pro and Apple’s Vision Pro, featuring an adjustable headband, passthrough capabilities, and support for an external battery pack.
The Galaxy XR is designed to respond to voice commands and track eye and hand movements using built-in microphones and cameras. In addition to these features, the headset will reportedly support two controller accessories resembling Meta’s Touch Plus controllers for the Quest 3. Internally, the device runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 chip and a customized version of Android XR with Samsung’s One UI overlay. Screenshots shared in the leak show a familiar app grid including Samsung’s browser, camera, and photo apps, alongside standard Android XR elements.
Hardware-wise, the Galaxy XR is expected to deliver high-end visuals through dual 4K micro-OLED screens and offer around two hours of battery life—comparable to Apple’s Vision Pro. Notably, the device is lighter than its Apple counterpart, weighing in at 545 grams. While Samsung confirmed in its Q2 2025 earnings that the headset is still on track to ship this year, no official launch event has been announced. Pricing rumors suggest a premium range between 2,500,000 and 4,000,000 Korean won (approximately $1,700 to $2,800), positioning the Galaxy XR as a high-end contender in the emerging XR market.
