Amazon Unveils Redesigned Echo Show 8 and 11 with Alexa+ Integration

Amazon has officially introduced its latest smart display lineup, revealing a redesigned Echo Show 8 and Echo Show 11 during its exclusive Devices and Services event. Built to showcase the company’s upgraded AI assistant, Alexa+, the new models feature a bold aesthetic overhaul and significant hardware improvements. Amazon describes them as “the most powerful Echo devices ever created,” equipped with custom AZ3 Pro silicon and an AI Accelerator, alongside enhanced sensors and microphones for superior noise cancellation.

The new Echo Show displays combine a floating screen design with a prominent speaker module, merging elements from previous Echo Show 8 and 10 models. Both devices include full-range forward-firing drivers for clearer audio and 13MP cameras—the highest resolution ever on an Echo Show. Their negative liquid crystal screens are engineered to improve visibility from any angle, while Wi-Fi radar and other sensors enable contextual Alexa+ interactions. These include recognizing when a user approaches the device, prompting personalized greetings, reminders, and relevant information.

On the software side, Amazon has added a media control center for easier access to streaming content, and a revamped home hub supporting Zigbee, Matter, and Thread protocols for broader smart home compatibility. New features also include color-coded calendars for family scheduling and wellness integrations for Oura ring users. The Alexa+ shopping widget offers enhanced control over Amazon and Whole Foods deliveries, along with personalized gift suggestions. The Echo Show 8 is priced at $180, while the Echo Show 11 will retail for $220. Both are available for pre-order now and will begin shipping on November 12, bundled with Alexa+ Early Access.
